When we did Hospitality at the Junior High, Little Debbie Cakes were put in the staff boxes the month of their birthday.
Now that we are in High School and have no budget, a Themed Banner is placed in the Teacher Lounge on the 1st of the month with all the Birthdays.
Themes, if we are having an event that month, it corresponds with that them. If not, what ever theme that floats your boat.
Ideas for making banner: For the Happy Birthday part, I usually play with different fonts to find what I want on Word and print it out for reference. The craft page at the school is 3 ft tall. Letters for that part are usually done 6 to 8 inches high. With yard stick and pencil, draw top line and bottom line. If you are worried about the lower case letters, draw a third line a little higher than the middle.
Shapes for each person, Clip Art! go to google and type what your what you want. Example: Penguin. Click on images, then click on Search Tools, then click Type, and finally clip art. Click on the one you want and it makes it larger. Then right click on the image and choose Copy Image. Open Word, and paste on document. Click on image in word and can make it smaller or larger. Print images for reference. Take a cereal box, coke box, and place paper over cardboard and cut out outline.
How many birthdays you have depends on placement. I put cut outs down to get an idea. Trace the cut out, then paint once all are traced. Go back and write names and dates.
Happy Birthday cost under $2 in cost of paint only!
