Pizza Bar Teacher Luncheon

Pizza Bar for a Teachers Luncheon

When we were on a PTO for Junior High, we hosted a Pizza Bar.  With having a budget, we were able to pay for the pizza.  A local pizza place gave us a discounted pizza price.

In 2012, our high school Volleyball concession stand sold pizza and got a pizza of $5 for a large.

This year for our Teacher Appreciation Week we were able to get a pizza place to donate some pizzas for our Finger Food day.
All that to say there are a few different ways you can have pizza.

  • Coordinate date with school.  .

  • Staff Counts. We do events for the entire building, which includes Teachers, Custodial day and night crew, and Cafeteria Workers.  (For the night crew, we leave things on table or refrigerator in the Teachers Lounge with a paper saying "Night Crew".)
  • Pick a Theme for your event.  For our Pizza event we did a Diner theme.  We also made a menu board, painted on Craft Paper with all the items we offered.
  • Make a list.  I am a List person.  I make a list of items I want for decorations, noted if it is to make, already at school, if someone else is bringing (with their name), or if I am bringing from home.  Another list for Food wanted with quantities needed.  A list of Supplies needed.  Then a list of Food and Supplies being brought from who.  *Signup Genius is an amazing tool!  Build your list on there and email link to parents.  http://www.signupgenius.com/
  • Make an invitation for event.  Put in Teachers Boxes one week before event.
  • Email parent contacts with list of donations needed.  (Our list has come from PTO membership envelopes, a sign up sheet sent home in Student Packet, and anyone I can get their email from.)        *Example of email wording:
PTO will be hosting our first Staff Luncheon on Friday, September 21st and need your help.

We will be providing a Diner themed luncheon in the SCHOOL NAME Library for the entire staff at SCHOOL NAME.

For this luncheon we will need the following items donated, if you are able to help us.  All items can be dropped off to the front office, marked PTO.  Please have your items to the school no later than 9:00 on Friday, September 21st.

If you would like to come help decorate, we will be in the Library on Thursday afternoon setting up.  Volunteers also needed to help set up and serve all day on Friday.

Parents were asked to donate:
 For 150 Staff:
 21 Cases-6 pack Bottled Cokes

10 of Each-2 Liter Bottles of Root Beer and Coke

5-Vanilla Ice Cream (Large plastic containers with handle)

12-Large Apple Pie (Feeds 8-10 people)

Our Menu was:
Pizza-Had 3 lunch periods, had them delivered before each lunch period to help keep them warm.  Left cash money with front office to Tip the delivery driver.  We did serving size of 2 pieces each.

Salad-There is a local business that is AMAZING at donating to us at least once a year.  Most businesses that do this have everything already on salad.  We usually set pick up for the night before.  If you can't get businesses to donate, a easy thing to get parents to donate!

Apple Pie

Root Beer Floats

PTO bought color coordinated paper goods, from our budget.

  • Large Plates 150
  • Plastic Spoons 150

  • Plastic Forks 150
  •
  • Napkins 150
  • Straws

Note:  This event was done by Dessiree.  She is a Master at the trade of setting up for an event and hosting an event.
