Teacher Luncheon Soup and Salad

Soup and Salad for a Teachers Luncheon

Our School Staff have enjoyed a Soup and Salad Bar.  Hospitality has hosted one in Elementary, Junior High, and now in High School.

  • Coordinate date with school.  *If it is during Lint, make sure you have alot of meatless items.
  • Staff Counts. We do events for the entire building, which includes Teachers, Custodial day and night crew, and Cafeteria Workers.  (For the night crew, we leave things on table or refrigerator in the Teachers Lounge with a paper saying "Night Crew".)
  • Pick a Theme for your event.  We have done Paris, Valentines and Saint Patrick's Day.  This year we are planning on a Carnival/Circus Theme.
  • Make a list.  I am a List person.  I make a list of items I want for decorations, noted if it is to make, already at school, if someone else is bringing (with their name), or if I am bringing from home.  Another list for Food wanted with quantities needed.  A list of Supplies needed.  Then a list of Food and Supplies being brought from who.  *Signup Genius is an amazing tool!  Build your list on there and email link to parents.  http://www.signupgenius.com/
  • Make an invitation for event.  Put in Teachers Boxes one week before event.
  • Email parent contacts with list of donations needed.  (Our list has come from PTO membership envelopes, a sign up sheet sent home in Student Packet, and anyone I can get their email from.)        *Example of email wording:
SCHOOL NAME Hospitality will be hosting a luncheon on March 8th for the teachers and staff.   The theme Saint Patrick's Day.  We will have a Soup and Salad Bar and we need your help in making the event a success.  Please have any donations dropped off to the front office or Teachers Lounge by 7:30am on March 8th, or before that at my house (123 Anywhere Street).

If you would like to come help decorate, we will be in the Teacher Lounge on Thursday afternoon setting up.  Volunteers also needed to help set up and serve all day on Friday.

Soups:  Please bring your soup in a crock-pot with a liner.  Unfortunately, by the time we are done serving and cleaning we do not have time to wash and scrub before the end of  the day.  All Crock-Pots will be in the front office for pickup by the end of the school day, please make sure YOUR NAME is on it as well as type of soup.  If you need a recipe for any of the soups, please let me know and I will email you a copy from my recipes.
