Hush Puppies

Hush Puppies-Granny’s

• 1 c. meal
• 1/2 c. flour
• 3 tsp baking powder
• 1 can cream style corn
• 1 egg
• 1 small onion, chopped fine
• Jalapeno (optional)
• Black pepper to taste
• Vegetable oil for deep frying

Mix all ingredients well; drop by teaspoonful in hot oil.  Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels; serve while hot.
